Reports: Lionel Messi & Ernesto Valverde Have An Uneasy Relationship
FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and new Blaugrana boss Ernesto Valverde are reportedly not working very well together.
According to Diario Gol, the Argentine and his manager have got off to a rocky start at the Camp Nou, mainly due to the club's lack of transfer activity so far.
Messi, who reported back for pre-season training last week, is apparently disappointed with the lack of new faces in the squad.
The Catalan giants have made only two signings since the window opened: Gerard Deulofeu from Everton and Nelson Semedo from Benfica.
The 2016/17 Copa del Rey winners have also been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, Guangzhou Evergrande star Paulinho and Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin.
Messi is apparently not happy that Valverde is even considering buying Paulinho, who is considered by many to be a Premier League flop following his stint at Tottenham Hotspur between 2013 and 2015.
The Argentine is also apparently dissatisfied with the fact that his new boss has had stern words with his best friend Luis Suarez after the Uruguayan showed up late for training.
